History
HISTORY OF THE HOUSEThis remarkable old stone house, dating back to the 16th century, is uniquely attached to the Church of St. Michael, forming a harmonious blend of history, architecture, and tradition. Its bell tower, which resonates at certain times of the day, fills the surrounding streets with an authentic sense of Dalmatian heritage and timeless atmosphere. Throughout the centuries, the house was home to many generations of the noble Carolipeo family, and later to their descendants, the Lučić family, each leaving their mark on its rich and layered story.
Inside, the house preserves original furniture from the Secession period, offering a rare glimpse into the elegance and refined taste of a bygone era. From its three windows, there is a direct view of the main town square, a lively gathering place where the traditional Dalmatian klapa festival is held, celebrating music, culture, and community spirit.
The house and its courtyard are connected to the square by 28 stone stairs, adding to its charm and authenticity. From the courtyard, one can enjoy a breathtaking view of the 13th-century Mirabela Fortress, once used by pirates as a strategic defense point against enemies. Thanks to its exceptional location, the house is equally close to the town beach and the mouth of the Cetina River, making it an ideal place where history, nature, and coastal beauty come together
